Yoga
Yoga has so many incredible benefits to help with stress relief, lowering cortisol levels, lowering blood pressure, stimulating and massaging organs, breath control, increasing flexibility, increasing energy, improving circulation, and more.
The most common statement I hear about yoga is “I can’t do yoga or I’m too big to do yoga.” It doesn’t matter your size, weight, or shape. Flexibility is not a prerequisite because in yoga, we honor where we are with our body’s constitution. You become limber over time. Slow and steady. I’m not a small-built person and can’t even touch my toes…and I’m a yoga instructor. My body’s constitution, with my back issues, does not allow me to touch my toes, and that is totally ok. Never compare yourself to another yoga student. Your yoga journey is your own and has nothing to do with what another student can do. Modifications of asanas (poses) are available for all types of body constitutions, injuries, etc.
